Exactly. I did cvs home depot and lyft. Family goes to cvs, done. Who doesnt use hd, done. Flight next week so airport ride with lyft, done. Worst case we get 10% or 15% if you transfer points to reserve card. I think the people who lose out are the ones who smashed every brand gc x5 to get the credits to places they wont use or go to
Yeah, I didn't buy every gift card, just the ones I knew I would use anyway - so Disney, Nintendo, HD and Grubhub.
Now that we know that these will pay out my kids are getting Munchkins all summer from DD.

Good to know but the more we post about these the higher chances of them closing this promo as well so I would say enjoy it but quietly laugh out loud

Paze already stated that they would honor the promo for gift cards purchased from yesterday to today (when they closed the option to use it for gc)
I find it quite funny though that they may have thought it would be too much hassle for people to buy just $5 or $10 gc. I wonder how they will continue (going forward) with the promo since it was supposed to run till september but it was effectively paused after a bit more than 1 day
They don't think about these things. I assume people in charge of stuff like this aren't necessarily aware of SD and other deal sites, and the long history of outcomes like this. It doesn't help when people are willing to drain every cent rather than a reasonable cutoff (maybe $200 or 300). It just discourages future easy promos when people take so much, and so fast.

You guys gotta check your risk tolerance levels a bit, when it was third party gc's available this was not really a high risk. If was low risk with a very high potential reward

There were so many options it was easy to just choose a merchant you spend at normally. Chase still was giving 10x points which is still good even if the credits dont go through. There's really not a ton of risk go me having some money at chipotle where i eat literally all the time or home depot where im at almost every week

When it went to newegg first party gc's they got less valuable, but we also had more info at that point to be pretty sure it would be honored
For better or for worse, people encouraging caution is worth it for the few users that might not know any history of promos falling through, and perhaps they'll save money that they shouldn't have risked spending. I know I posted quite a few posts, and others have as well, but I think it's important to share all knowledge in deals like this so a few people can skip harder lessons, and perhaps people will be a bit more reasonable with their usage of a promo.

I also think people are forgetting that, if things go wrong, then tons of people complain to these companies and demand what is "owed to them". This very much discourages easy and lucrative promos in the future. Someone brought up that they'd go to their state AG. Are we really thinking that this is a situation where we tie up public resources??

Unless more merchants are added, I am getting cheap Dominos and Wendy's for several months. Even if more merchants are added before promo expiration, I am sure sure Paze will tell merchants not to allow checkout using Paze when buying gift cards.

You're underestimating the SD effect. I have been here so long I have seen promos die quickly because folks come here and brag a lot but hey you do you.

It's too late for that. It's on Reddit. This thing has surpassed FRONTPAGE and is now a FIRE deal.

For folks who didn't max out, don't suffer from loss aversion. I mean don't be sad about the amount you left on the table. Instead, enjoy what you managed to buy. I also didn't max out simply because I did not want to place orders the entire day. There was always a risk of mass order cancellation or credit card being blocked due to too many orders.

Just downloaded Omaha Steaks and Sephora apps on the iPhone. Neither one has Paze as a checkout item. So few vendors listed on Paze merchant directory and it looks like half of them are useless.

I agree, these promotions never make sense to me. The paypal pay in 4 promo where they locked me after oine purchase made me less likely to use pay in 4, not more likely.
doesn't matter either way; was never going to use them even if they had paid up fully.

*was* a fire deal. agreed, the sd effect is real but the reddit effect is just as real.

but it wasn't those who bought 5 gcs or even 10. $50 to $100 is not going to set off the alarms. it was those who were in the $1000+ using dozens of cards; basically hammering the servers and getting locked out and dozens of declines and cancellations.
