These are absolutely worth the price vs the competitors. Mine is going on 20 years now, its seen 2 world series, a super bowl, the Stanley Cup finals, the Belmont, countless camping trips, traveled the country with friends, lived on a boat for 2 years while trying to find itself.....and still looks almost brand new.
Im thinking to use this as a balcony BBQ. Has anyone tried?
I use the one without the stand on my balcony. It works well and was $89 at tj maxx, but wish I had the stand version.
i am planning on getting an adapter and normal propane tank because I'm burning through the small tanks I get for camping.
Honestly, this is an awesome little gas grill. I've had the tabletop version for a bit now and it's a tank—I literally threw it in my checked luggage when I moved for work!
The best feature by far is the removable water tray. Cleaning is a breeze because you don't have to awkwardly tip the whole grill just to pour out dirty water. It uses standard Coleman Roadtrip cast iron grates, but since this model is a bit shorter than the full-width Roadtrip, the grate only covers one side. This is actually great because you can easily pair it with a Swaptop griddle or cheap Amazon aftermarket add-ons. Just skip the pot support accessory; Coleman updated this to a single wide burner for better, more even grilling heat, so it's not really meant for pots anyway.
As for the price? I'd hold out for a deal on this one with the stand. I bought mine (tabletop version) for $80, and even now it's $99.99 at Dick's, not sure the stand is worth doubling the price! I ended up pairing mine with a foldable RW Flame grill table I got on sale for $40, and it's the ultimate portable cooking setup. $100 for the same grill without the stand: https://www.dickssportinggoods.co...p225prtcfp
