The Flashforge Adventurer 5M is a fast CoreXY printer that stands out for reliable everyday printing and strong value at this price. It has handled many projects cleanly, works well for functional parts in PETG and ASA, and the enclosure kit makes it a practical low cost path to hotter materials. The deal is also far below past street prices, with recent purchases around $154 to $190 and older pricing above $240. Main caveats are that multicolor and AMS style convenience are not included, and ASA printing benefits from an enclosure and filtration setup. A solid fit if you want a compact single color workhorse.
Functional-part makers printing PETG or ASA, because the enclosed CoreXY setup suits brackets, cases, and hot-car parts.
Yes. It has been bought for about $154, $190, $240, and even over $300 when new, so $133.8 is a strong discount. Several buyers also report it printing many projects reliably with no problems.
Yes. It is being used for functional parts in PETG and ASA, with PETG-CF planned later, and it can be paired with a DIY enclosure plus HEPA/carbon filtration for ASA. PETG is also favored for hot-car parts and general functional prints.
For ASA, an enclosure is useful. The printer can be run with the Flashforge enclosure kit, a DIY cover, or a custom enclosure, and one setup described using the printer's cardboard box temporarily as a draft shield before adding proper filtration.
Yes. PLA is the easiest filament to start with because it does not need drying, and learning slicer settings like infill, supports, brim, speed, and temperature matters more than the printer itself. Sunlu PLA and other solid-color filaments are suggested for practice.
Yes. It has been reflashed with generic Klipper and Moonraker instead of using Flashforge's proprietary software, which is useful if you already prefer that workflow.
This an amazing deal for an amazing printer. I bought one for work and don't need multicolor feature. We do need different filament materials for different applications and AMS is a nice convenience that we miss, however at this price, I would get 1 or two more, stack them on top of each other for each material.
Pulled the trigger on this one, after comparing this, Kobra X, CC1, and others. I used to own a Creality Ender 3 V3 (not KE, SE, etc.), which had good prints, same 220mm^3 size, but not a CoreXY. My use case is to print functional parts (battery adapters, brackets, cases, etc.) with PETG and internal car parts with ASA. At some point will likely do PETG-CF. My use case does not include cute, colorful, baby Yoda prints. This FF 5M is the right size, wallet friendly, and can add a DIY case for ASA prints with my own HEPA/Carbon filtration. Can't wait to get it. I'll use its own cardboard box initially to provide draft cover for printing PETG.
Can anyone recommend a link for filament for this, I'm a complete beginner. This will be my first 3D printer, so no frills. Just want to practice and learn. Thanks guys for the collective knowledge.

Kingroon petg 10 pack multicolor about $50 from Aliexpress cheapest per roll when on sale. I bought 10 pack pla too but found petg to be more useful. Or get both, so you can learn as you go.

PLA is easiest to print. No drying required. More importantly, learn how to use your slicer software (Orcaslider or Flashprint). Understand infills, supports, brim, speed and temp. Key to quality prints is fine-tuned G-Code, which come from optimized slicer settings. You may find that different internal lattice structure may yield a print with good strength, without using a lot of filament.
