Lenovo's Legion Tower 7i Gen 10 is a high end RTX 5080 gaming desktop that also looks useful for heavier work. The machine has been described as rock solid for gaming and regular use, and the two 1 TB M.2 drives make it easy to keep the operating system separate from game storage. The main drawbacks are value and hardware balance, with complaints about the price versus past Lenovo deals, weaker RAM, a motherboard without XMP support, and a power supply that may be too small for the setup. It is also very heavy, so moving it calls for a roller stand.
Gamers wanting a rock-solid desktop for play and everyday use, because this configuration has been stable in long-term use.
The configuration can have practical compatibility issues, including a power supply that may be insufficient and RAM or motherboard limitations like missing XMP support.
For gaming-focused buyers, several comments peg the value as weak above about $2400, especially versus Micro Center PowerSpec, Newegg builds, or a Skytech 9800X3D + RTX 5080 system around $2300. A separate comment says the same machine was bought for this price before with 64GB RAM and 4TB storage, making this listing feel more like a price increase than a discount.
The included PSU is reported as not strong enough for this setup, and one comment says the machine needs a power supply upgrade. That makes the stock configuration a concern for buyers planning to run the RTX 5080 under load.
Yes, if you need Intel for more than gaming. One comment specifically points to data science and other productivity workloads as a case where an Ultra 9 285K system makes sense, even though the same person would not choose it for gaming alone.

Before Christmas I bought the same machine with 64gb ram and 4tb drive for this price. This is getting offensive. It's like raising gas to $4.50 a gallon so when it gets back to $3 we think it's cheap.

that is what policies focused in Trickle down Economy gives....all the money for Billionaires...TAX THE RICH!!!!!
Or for same specs (minus integrated graphics) with better ram speed and arguably better airflow you can get from NewEgg https://www.newegg.com/andromeda-...006J-000D0
I would not consider 5080 a deal for anything over $2400 though.

Unfortunately, these are times we are living in now, and it's not going to change anytime soon. If anything, it's only going to get worse. I remember the deal you're referring to because I was among the people who posted it during BF last year.
I have this exact machine, bought for BF last year. Yes, it was $600 cheaper back then but I highly recommend it for both gaming and regular use. It's been rock-solid for me. It's tremendously heavy though, so make sure you buy a roller stand or something to put it on if you at all plan to move it (for cleaning or whatever)

You see how many people downvoted? If you listen to the rich, they are praising the great president because apparently the policies are making them a lot of money by "promoting innovation", "giving the breaks to businesses", so they can "create more jobs". Yet when the price issue is brought up, they quickly blame some mayoral election in LA that has "fraud" because they didn't count vote ballots received after the election closed. Such weird minds they have.

From somebody who used to teach economics, business IS how money is made. If your business does insanely well, you make enormous gobs of money and create jobs. When policy hurts business, it eliminates the middle class, picks winners (like big box stores during COVID) and guts losers (like Mom and Pop) busineses.
The rich are already insanely powerful. They can Epstein it up all they like. They will never pay the consequences, and they will never pay taxes. They already control the government in every way possible through closed door deals and our "representatives" absolutely do not represent us.
But policy matters. You mentioned LA. That city is bleeding middle class left and right. Only the rich and impoverished remain to lap up what's left. There's no question that LA has horrible policies that have created real problems that made a lot of people very mad, and a lot of people very dead. The same for Maui.
The same goes for Iran. Bad policy to force regime change half a century ago. Bad policy to let them enrich uranium unchecked for years. Bad policy for Europe to push zero population, then try to replace their workforce with immigration, which got out of control. There are consequences to bad policy.
If you want to eat the rich, go ahead. But bad policy fed them in the first place. Policies that made big box stores like Amazon and Walmart billions during a pandemic where we were all FORCED to shop there. Mad at Elon? Government gave huge incentives to go electric. Every billionaire has perfected the art of leeching off government... Leeching off our tax money. You need to ask yourself: which administrations enriched billionaires and monopolized busineses the most? Which party gets the most donations from billionaires?
crap deal i got mine with a 9800x3d and 5080 for 2300 from skytech dont touch then intel garbage
If youre buying it for gaming sure, but in many applications Intel is better. I have a 5090 with the ultra 9 285k because I do more than gaming with my machine (data scientist for a FAANG company) so Intel makes sense. Blanket saying Intel is trash shows your ignorance

The system can run both gaming and regular use workloads in a rock-solid way.
The 2TB storage can be organized as two separate 1TB M.2 drives for an OS drive and a game drive.
The Intel configuration can fit non-gaming workloads where Intel processors perform better for certain applications.
The configuration can have practical compatibility issues, including a power supply that may be insufficient and RAM or motherboard limitations like missing XMP support.
The deal can feel like a price increase compared with a prior purchase of the same machine at the same price point.
The RTX 5080 offer may not be worthwhile above about $2400 based on comparisons to other retailers and open-box pricing.
The tower can be extremely heavy, so moving it for cleaning may require a roller stand or similar setup.

I would not consider 5080 a deal for anything over $2400 though.
