I love my 2.5" thick end grain block from Boos that I've had for 10-12 years. Boos makes great boards/blocks but this is an edge grain board instead of end grain that they are really known for. I'm sure quality is really high but this is way overpriced at regular price and probably still a bit over at sale price for a (somewhat) mass produced 1 1/4" board. I'm sure it's a very high quality board but there really isn't much special about it other than who it's made by.

Everything I've heard suggests that John Boos quality has dropped a lot in the past few years. Reviews on Amazon show lots of splitting in recent boards. Also end grain boards will show lots of scratching. I wouldn't buy this personally.
