Various Digital Retailers have Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking (eBook) by Susan Cain on sale for $1.99.

Available from: About this title:
  • At least one-third of the people we know are introverts. They are the ones who prefer listening to speaking; who innovate and create but dislike self-promotion; who favor working on their own over working in teams. It is to introverts—Rosa Parks, Chopin, Dr. Seuss, Steve Wozniak—that we owe many of the great contributions to society.
  • In Quiet, Susan Cain argues that we dramatically undervalue introverts and shows how much we lose in doing so. She charts the rise of the Extrovert Ideal throughout the twentieth century and explores how deeply it has come to permeate our culture. She also introduces us to successful introverts—from a witty, high-octane public speaker who recharges in solitude after his talks, to a record-breaking salesman who quietly taps into the power of questions. Passionately argued, impeccably researched, and filled with indelible stories of real people, Quiet has the power to permanently change how we see introverts and, equally important, how they see themselves.
  • Print length: 370 pages

The real problem is labeling people only as introvert or extravert while there are way too many levels in between and beyond.

Amazing book and highly recommend it. As an introvert, I struggled with some things and often asked myself: what's wrong with me? Susan did some amazing research to highlight introverts, our powers, and how we can approach life.

No it's not hard to understand but I find it interesting when people describe themselves as one or the other. We have a tendency to whittle things down to 2 choices because it makes things easy to choose.

Unfortunately the world likes an easier label, and for the most part it works out as it's a simple understanding! I think those who are struggling with one or the other and look into it understand the real umbrella it encompasses.

Great book! I'm an introvert and a pastor and this book dealt with others in my exact situation. It was very helpful.
