Looking at this or an Ipad Mini for general web browsing. I like this because of Mozilla and Chrome. Ipad Mini would be restricted to Safari. Decisions, decisions.

Assumed it was a price error but it's real, I guess this is for marquees brownlee himself.

If this had a Ryzen chip in it it would be soo worth it. The ram and gpu alone are $8-9k. Intel can't do some LLM/AI stuff that crucial. but if you can run LLM tasks and wait another .000002 seconds.. you'll be fine.

This is a good thought, for general web browsing with Mozilla, this is a good choice, you're really future proofing yourself for about a year or so before needing to upgrade to something more performant.
recommend this laptop if you need to run web pages like Gmail or YouTube. I don't know if it is has widevine, might want to check that if you care about watching Netflix.

The GPU is comparable to a desktop 5070ti (due to thermals) and is equal to the 5090 laptop. If you don't need quadro ISV certification and just want to do AI work, or just want to game...you're paying a huge premium.

The memory was under $350 a year ago. It's worth over $2500 now, but most people won't get $2150 more usage out of this just because the memory costs more.

Source: I bought this equivalent specd out machine in early 2021 (p15 gen 1 with 64 gigs ram, rtx 5000, oled), paid a ton for it, and now it's barely worth 1/5 of the og price. But I like 2021, you're not in an absolute shortage of machines. You have choices.
