This 10.1 inch Pastigio digital photo frame stands out as a low cost Android touchscreen for basic photo display and tinkering. The promo code has brought the price down to $29.99 with free shipping, and the discount appears to apply per item. It can run locally with local storage or a segmented network, and that makes it appealing for Home Assistant or kiosk style experiments. The main drawback is the locked down firmware, with reports of no ADB connection and no APK sideloading, so advanced installs and internet connected use raise privacy and security concerns.
The promo code CTW2J2LA worked at checkout and brought the price down to $29.99 with free shipping.
The checkout flow required entering CTW2J2LA in the cart near the payment method, and the discount could be applied successfully when done there.
The frame runs Android, which can make it a potential low-cost platform for experimentation beyond basic photo display.
The discount appeared to apply per item in the cart, since increasing quantity from one to two increased the total discount accordingly.
The WiFi-connected frame can create security risk if the network is not segmented or if WiFi is used without isolation.
The device appears to be stripped down and may not support advanced integrations like Synology Photos or Home Assistant in its default state.
Firmware restrictions reportedly prevented ADB connection even with an ADB enable option, which can make the device feel defective for tinkering.
App sideloading reportedly may not work because APK sideloading via ADB is blocked, limiting customization options.
