I was hoping for a better price. I paid less than this a couple of years ago in a pre-tariff world.

The SoloCam S340 stands out as a solar powered outdoor camera with fast connections, smooth playback, and useful pan and tilt tracking for supplemental coverage without running power. The app supports deleting clips and formatting the SD card, and tracking can be turned off. It records clips rather than full continuous video, does not support ONVIF, and RTSP can go to sleep when used with other apps. Winter charging may still be needed, especially in cold weather or with tree cover.

  • The camera app supports deleting clips and formatting the SD card directly in-app.

    jjmIII

  • The camera can track 360 degrees while staying fixed when idle, which helps reduce constant movement.

    bilderberg

  • The SoloCam S340 can connect quickly and work well as supplemental cameras without running power.

    bajanboy5809

  • The S340 floodlight variant includes 5GHz Wi‑Fi instead of relying on 2.4GHz connectivity.

    happygooddeal

  • Solar charging may still require recharging during winter, especially in colder regions or with limited sun.

    bilderbergOrangeAlpaca4624

  • The camera records clips rather than continuous full-length video.

    konoplya

  • The camera can have a noticeable wake-up delay before playback, even when tilt control feels smooth.

    slims

  • Eufy does not support ONVIF, and RTSP can go to sleep when powered via USB direct power.

Can you delete old recordings through the app or do you have to physically remove the sd card?

This only records clips, not full video
Seems like a critical thing to note. My Tapo and kasa cameras record 24/7

You have solar/battery powered cams that record 24/7? Thought they all had to be on POE or an outlet.

The E42 unlike the S340 can do continuous recording but only when it's plugged into 5v USB power. And at least for me, the continuous recordings get deleted at midnight each day, have found no settings or information on this. This deletion is only on the continuous recordings, motion detected video clips are unaffected.

Are you saying g these work for covering both sides if placed at a corner? For an effort to cover 2 sides of a home with a single camera?
Yes, they will do that very effectively I have one on the corner of my workshop.
