I'm 215, wife is 150 and it holds us no issue. Not the max weight limit but it seems sturdy enough. Bought it for nostalgia alone. Also very light compared to the folding rockers we usually use.
Might be able to hold two people but I wouldn't push the weight limit and make you store it out of the elements (unless the material has changed over the last 30-40 years).
A nice thing about the old ones were that they had aluminum frames, so ZERO rust. The fabric wasn't the best, so the sun would slowly damage it.
On this one, the metal looks white which tells me it is a cheap metal frame and would rust pretty quickly.
As for strength, hard to say which is better.
Haven't seen these lawn chairs in so long I forgot they existed. Brings back so many memories from the good ole days! Nostalgia is a double edged sword

Wife and I sit on pool decks multiple times a month for water polo matches. She thought the love seat was cute. We bought it. I like sitting next to my wife so this is a win .
