I paid 100$ each for two of these kits and got a free upgrade to to the 9850x3D so I'm feeling pretty good about it.

I built my last PC in 2015.
Spring of 2025 I had a RANDOM itch to build a new one. (wasn't even planning on needing one as I rarely game)
$99 for this ram. a month later and everything tripled in cost. Somehow the gods allowed me a single win in life, by building a new rig a month before we got AI-pilled.

There was an extra $40 off on the 21st so I bit at $300. Immediately listed and quickly sold my 5-year old 32gb DDR5 5600 kit (with even worse timing) for $275. Everything said and done I paid ~$50 for an ARGB upgrade and negligible performance, but at least I have a warranty if something breaks before the rampocalypse bursts.
