I saw an ad campaign on FBMP and signed up, seems to be legit for Cali residents!

Apparently you connect your vehicle account to smartcar(plaid for smart car apps) and it passes the charging session data to this govt sponsored program. For every kWh dispensed outside of your "home address" between 10AM-3PM, you get 20 cents back up to $15/mo plus $25 signup bonus with invite code.

The trick is to change your home address to somewhere you wouldn't typically charge. I guess it's a campaign to not waste renewal stored energy or something idk.

any idea if the $15 is per vehicle or per account? have 2 tesla's, so would it make more sense to create an account with the wife's info and link one of them to her account?
If you make separate accounts, you double dip on both the signup and referral incentive so definitely register once per vehicle

For Teslas this is actively monitoring location of set up during a drive. Anyway I can avoid this.
Same were you able to get around this. This part is a deal breaker for me. Who knows how often this is polling the car and the energy it uses

It doesn't poll your car directly, your car already automatically pings a central server that that small apps request from. If you're paranoid about them having your location data then that's a valid concern

I checked my account today and looks like my charging incentive credits exceeded $15, so I wonder if the monthly limit is enforced cause it definitely hasn't been a month for me

I cringe at anything that uses Plaid. Just be aware once you use Plaid to verify ANY sort of account their TOS lets them login and scrape your account whenever they want unless you change your credentials.

I signed up for the account yesterday and see $25 signup credit right away. I charged my Ioniq 5 today between 10-3, but don't see any activity on the app. I have my home address setup different than where i charged the vehicle. Is there a customer service support number to contact?

10am-3pm is usually in the expensive time at CA public charging stations that go by time-of-use pricing, so this is most worth it for those with Level 2 charging at home or if you still have free public charging that came with the car. Even if you don't, the $25 signup bonus alone is worth it.
No, peak is 4-9 or 5-8

No, you're thinking residential. I was referring to public charging.

Did you have to allow all permissions when linking your Ioniq 5? I noticed only half of them are required and the other half (like VIN) you can uncheck.

This isn't Plaid, but account syncs are through a similar service called smartcar.com.

I've read other Tesla owners using this and it works for supercharging. And it pays out to PayPal if desired.

It's automatic upon signup after first charge

It's showing sporadic and incorrect data for SC for me. Only some of the sessions are logged, and much lower kWh levels. I charged 24 and they show 7 for my last session, for example
