This is fantastic if you need to put it in a small space or know that you are only ever going to connect a couple of devices, but for most people you're better off with the 8 port switch.

Like... that makes sense if you're putting it in a server rack or something. but for most people who are setting it up in their homes it would be much more convenient if all the ports were in the back with the lights on the front.
it's a minor nit-pick, but it annoys me
edit: upon closer inspection it appears that the power port is on the side. somewhat better, but still not ideal

Also looks like it adds basic things like connection status lights on the ports.
Remember to log into its web server when you first unbox it and update the firmware from the tp-link US website.
edit: Just noticed this one is actually only $7.99 on deal. I still would buy something a litlte nicer, this one is absolutely barebones.
