Not the same, this is Potting mix (for pots), Lowes has Potting soil (for ground).

Yes this is potting soil for containers. The Garden soil at Lowe's is for in ground use that's why it's a much cheaper blend.

Saw a few remaining bags of these Costco (the organic variety) for $4.97 a pop. It's the end of the season for this item now though, therefore, availability is going to be very limited. I bought a few at the start of the season for $9.50 a bag. This variety of dirt is for use in Pots. However, if you are building in-ground flower beds then the dirt can be had much cheaper.
