The product states that you must manage their switch via the cloud. This should be a red flag for a lot of people.

Not because of anything nefarious on the part of TP-Link. But it does mean that you have to give TP-Link direct access to manage your network. This does increase the risk that an entity such as a government is given access, or a hacker exploits a vulnerability to gain access. Plus, if TP-Link goes under or stops supporting the product, the cloud management goes away and the hardware may become useless.

This is no different from most home routers, except for the fact that you cannot disable the remote management.

From the Amazon listing: "Please note all TP-Link Festa Devices do not work with TP-Link Omada Controllers. Festa Devices require Festa Cloud to manage. Standalone mode does not apply."

(It's possible "Standalone mode" is not the same as local access and management. If they aren't the same, then you can probably ignore my warning above.)
