The Fanttik A10 Pro is a compact digital tape measure that shines for quick, precise indoor measurements and area calculations, with built in reference points and a handy laser level. It is described as easy to use and well designed, and the 9.8 foot tape is enough for many room, drawer, and box jobs where exact fractions matter. The main limits are the short tape length and the laser, which can be hard to see in bright sunlight and seems better suited to shaded indoor spaces. The retractable tape and rounded end also draw criticism, making it a niche tool for close range measuring.

  • The built-in reference points make the Fanttik A10 Pro easier to use for common measuring tasks.

  • The digital tape measure supports precise readings for 1/16 or 1/32 inch measurements.

  • The laser level can serve as a helpful add-on for area and layout measurements.

  • The device can be used effectively for digital area calculations like square footage.

  • The retractable tape mechanism can be unreliable and may require disassembly or modification to stay extended.

  • The laser range may be limited outdoors in daylight, with longer distances requiring shaded conditions or a tape-measure fallback.

  • The laser may fail to work in bright light because the unit cannot see the dim laser.

  • The tape's rounded "butt up against an object" end can make positioning by feel difficult.

I don't like the idea of combining a mechanical tape measure with an electronic one. Kinda gimmicky, if you ask me. I'd prefer to carry my tape which I can easily replace or have an extra in a drawer if it breaks or gets misplaced, and the Bosch laser measure I have is perfect for up to 160', and I treat it with utmost care so it doesn't walk.

My limited experience is that none of these consumer lasers work worth a damn in SoCal daylight over 3 feet

Posted this on an earlier sale but the trick with this is to not think of it as a tape measure but as a really big set of calipers.
  • Need to draw a long straight line? Just use a regular tape measure
  • Need to swag out six-ish feet? Same
  • Need to know exactly how long that dresser or box is? How wide the inside of a drawer is? How tall your kid is? This gives you a precise reading instantly. No squinting at the tape and trying to figure out which line is 1/8" and which is 1/16", vwip, measure, read, done
I haven't used the laser much but there's no way something remotely in this price range goes 165' outside. It'll work fine in a shaded garage / basement.

Ehhh. I got one of these out of curiosity and barely use it, the problem is that they made the part of the tape measure that's supposed to butt up against an object rounded, so it's hard to determine by feel where the thing is supposed to be. Also, normal tapes don't have a 5 second startup delay.

These are junk. If you use the laser and there's bright light the unit can't see the dim laser flashing so it won't work. And when you pull the tape out, there is a spring loaded button on the bottom and the tape is supposed to stay out until you press the button, but the spring is too weak so it's slowly goes back in so I contacted the company and they sent me another one and it did the same thing. I took it all apart and stretched out the spring a little bit and now it works, but it was very difficult to take apart and put back together. Buy something else it's not worth it.
Literally the first question i was going to ask is - does this work outside in bright sunlight at noon. Currently have a lowes branded laser measurer but using it on cloud days or nights only is really useless

thanks for important input

green lasers are brighter and can be seen easily in bright sunlight but i don't know if any company makes those for cheap

Lol, I've got a consumer Bosch one that's rated for 40 feet, but yeah it struggles above 20 ft in direct sunlight as the laser dot is too dim to see. It's great indoors for sizing rooms, doorframes/windows, etc for home improvement projects, but usually you're not measuring more than 20' indoors.

I've tried to use the Bosch outside for taping out half a volleyball court distance (29.5 ft) for kid to practice serving, or for measuring for landscaping and retaining wall projects. Those are longer than a 20 to 25 ft tape measure in one go. Usually I'll use the laser to measure out about 20' accurately, and then a tape measure from that spot for the rest of the distance....

OP/Seller, fix your description unless it is deliberate: According to product page, you are supposed to get a hedge trimmer for free when you add both to cart. It does indeed work, but when you apply the code in thid thread, the discount disappears
