I got the Vornado non-tilt version of this box fan (currently the same price as this one on Amazon). It move significantly more air (~3000cfm vs ~1700cfm), is almost double the weight, but is quite a bit louder at its lowest setting. The Vornado does feel much more solidly built, but I do think many of the interior bits are still mostly plastic. Vornado warranties this model for five years, and I've never had a problem with them honoring that with my other fans from them.

Like yeah it's a little weird the product title has to distinguish it but it's also weird you've never seen other fan types with 1,000+ posts on slickdeals when many of them hit the front page.
Every winter a Mr. Buddy portable heater deal hits the front page and the comments always talk about the older models having a heat powered fan and recommending a stove fan w/ a mount to put on the new ones to distribute heat more effectively.
I got the generic 20" Lasko which I think is the quintessential "$20 Walmart box fan" that everyone looks at. I had it for around three years with moderate use before it broke. The motor just got bogged down (literally wouldn't turn anymore) and stopped. The fan did allow for semi-easy access to all of its parts for cleaning (just a bunch of screws), but even after cleaning and attempting to lubricate it, it just wouldn't spin up anymore. For the price and years it did work, I was fine with that.

Still have my $20 box fan maybe 6 years old or more...I clean the dust but still kicking but it has some rust on the metal from age...
Not sure I want more air than this specially at the lowest settings when I just want a breeze.
