For sure. But I made it my mission to drop all streaming services to focus on a physical/digital collection. I went with AppleTV for a handful of reasons. First, they aren't going anywhere. Second, they stream purchased content at the highest bitrate of all competitors. Third, they are the least likely to drop purchased content (looking at you, Amazon.). Fourth, you can permanently download your library. Fifth, many films include extras like audio commentary and deleted scenes. Sixth, they support Movies Anywhere. So about 120 of my movies were purchased through Vudu's disc-to-digital service and linked via MA. All my annual streaming subscriptions have expired and I have no regrets.

Superman 2025 is a digital 4K release that plays well as a comic book take on the character, with strong praise for David Corenswet, Mr. Terrific, Krypto, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. It is also confirmed as Movies Anywhere compatible, with Apple TV and Amazon purchases showing up across linked libraries and Apple TV offering permanent downloads on compatible devices. The main knocks are uneven story and tone, with some calling the humor flat or the messaging heavy handed, and others finding the CGI and casting choices weak. A solid option if you want a modern Superman entry with broad digital portability.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes. The digital version is MA compatible, so it can appear in linked services like Fandango after purchase.

  • Yes. Purchased content can be permanently downloaded to iPhone, iPad, Mac, or PC and watched without an internet connection; downloads are not available directly on Apple TV or some streaming-device apps, but can be done on compatible devices.

    SuperfoodSuperfood

  • Yes. The Apple TV version can include extras like audio commentary and deleted scenes, and the Amazon X-Ray edition includes bonus videos in the Extras section.

Grabbed the Xray edition on Amazon for the same price. Ports to Movies Anywhere as the normal movie, just with some bonus videos in the Extras section. Pretty awesome way to use the slow shipping credits.

Was a decent movie and disagree about the Superman, I think he did a great job. That said, shoehorning in all the "Superman is an illegal alien, see how evil you are for not embracing and being more acceptable of aliens" nonsense really took me out of the movie at some points.
That's you projecting your bias. Lex Luthor has literally always hated Superman for being an alien who is better than all humans. Superman makes him feel inferior, and if that spoke to you, then you need to do some thinking on your own. This storyline has been in the comics for decades, bucko.

Such a bad superman. Trying to be guardians I guess? But failed miserably. Bad story, bad casting, bad acting.... Was a shame.

Was able to return my Amazon order to get my credits back, hopefully the Bing searches start counting soon as it's bugged right now. While price is up to $10 everywhere, going the Bing route is better anyways.
