One of the things I miss most since retirement is my ability to use various presses in the shops at work. Hard to justify buying this for the very infrequent times I need one, but for under $100 I'm seriously debating...

Having and not needing is opposite of needing one and not having one. Decisions decisions 🤔

At less than 3 feet tall fully extended, I'm not sure I'd call this a floor press unless you like working only a foot from the floor.

It'd be fairly easy to make a base that raises the height. Anyone that buys this is clearly a tinkerer and wouldn't have an issue doing so. Still a good deal even if it's a little short.

Generally I buy cheap tools if they're unlikely to damage the workpiece or me, and splurge if it's something that can come apart at high speed and take chunks off of me in passing. I'm on the fence about a cheap press, but the mechanism is simple enough that it's hard to think of a likely defect. If it fails then it might just not, you know, press stuff.

Buy it for the time that you need it. Sucks to do things and have to stop or have to figure out the work around when you don't have the necessary tools.

It can be, if you can get someone to lay down and hold really still for a long time.

Wow good catch, id rather not sit cross legged at my floor press.
