Yeah these are the most pointless imho. They don't even save to the sync module (iirc) and the videos aren't viewable unless you subscribe.

If they paid me the 10 bucks instead of me paying them, I might get it. Blink cameras are junk.

I have some of these and they DO save to my sync module. A separately purchased sync module would be needed for these to do that unless you already have the sync module. (I believe the sync module 2 will support up to 10 cameras?)

Huh I'll need to re add the camera and double check what I mightve done wrong!

Why is there so much hate for Blink cameras on some of these threads? Is it only because they require a subscription for some features? I was leaning towards buying a few but I'm definitely not trying to get locked into yet another subscription service.

At a guess. They are more and more trying to go to subscription only. Which means they have reduced what you can and can't do with the camera's stock, and often make what you can still do very obfuscated in settings or hidden options. Now if you are tech savy you can get different camera's and set up an internal system, however most people aren't.

Them being bought out by Amazon left an unpleasant taste in the mouth for some. As it adds on to the possibility of "subscription only" in the future, and what is happening with your data now that Amazon has it?

There is also their history of sharing data with police, which early on they had done without notifying the user.

Quality wise, it's all about the same for the home consumer use stuff. If you get into professional level stuff it can go from "little bit better" to "can be run over by a truck and still work".
