Just ordered. DTO blemished tools are new. The blemished sticker is the only difference between theirs and HDs. I have bought lots of stuff from them ,both in store and shipped and always wait for a halfway decent sale with a shipping deal. $5 isn't bad for something this big. I have a corded saw but been wanting a battery powered one. For my uses Ryobi has been great. Homeowner/weekend warrior. I've got 10-15 batteries, so as long as I have plenty of them charged and ready, this should be good for some of my projects.

I believe the one you order from Home Depot for $150 isn't a brushless version. Please double-check, as I could have made a mistake.

Yes, very tempting. This might not be a tool you use often, but when you do it's a time & effort saver and then some.
Does anyone know if Ridgid makes anything similar? I'm not finding anything but maybe it's me

The only one I see for $149 is the corded. It shows that it has a higher RPM. This could be a good option, if you don't need the cordless capability for roughly the same money.

This is very, very, very tempting… But I'm not sure about cordless for this. I can't foresee ever needing this to be portable so cordless doesn't matter, but the price is good, but I imagine it eats through batteries, but I probably wouldn't be using it so much that that's an issue, but maybe I would, and I don't have That many long powered batteries.

Good luck ripping anything of substance with this. It's probably fine for 3/4" pine trim and most sheet goods but I'm skeptical you're getting through hardwoods without some serious performance issues.

Like with most tools, if you're aware of the limitations and plan accordingly it can still be useful.

I agree, I use the ryobi nail guns with success. I even have the brushless sliding chop saw that works decent but it will shut down if you're not slow and careful. I'll keep using my 10" plugin Dewalt table saw for now but this is temping as I hate dragging big corded tools out to rip one board.

I have this and used it quite a bit during a whole house renovation a few years ago. I also had a 120v Ridgid one with more power and larger table. Depending on what I was doing, I often went for the Ryobi because I could set it up so quickly, not mess with cords, and it did a decent job. The biggest issue is that it is very light, so if I wasn't careful, I could easily cause the saw itself to slide on the table unless I clamped it down. I had the same problem with a portable craftsman one I had too, so that's not necessarily because it is battery powered.
I would not rip 3/4" oak plywood with it if my corded Ridgid were available. Anything thinner than that, sure. If I had no other saw available, it could do it but you'd have to go VERY slowly and have a 4ah or higher battery for sure. Thankfully I have about 30 batteries varying from 1.5ah to 12ah and have never run out of batteries on the job.
