The Sofirn SP31 V3 is a compact rechargeable EDC flashlight that stands out for strong output, easy USB C charging, and a normal clicky switch. The matte black finish and shorter body get positive reactions, and the included battery is seen as adding real value. It is not especially throwy, and the overdriven design heats up quickly, so lower settings make more sense for longer use. Pricing and coupon behavior are confusing, with welcome deal pricing changing after login and some color or emitter options not available from the US warehouse.

Common Questions (5)

  • The shown low price includes a Welcome Deal discount when you are not logged in. After signing in, the price can jump to about $23, which suggests the deal is tied to first-time or logged-out checkout.

  • Yes, the discount codes worked for the 519A-5000K version, and the same codes also worked for the Nichia version. The 5000K/green options may not be available from the US warehouse, which can make the coupon behavior look inconsistent.

    jag-engrnetstrollerhowdydo

  • Yes. It heats up very quickly in overdriven use, so it is best for short bursts; for longer runtime, drop down a setting. It also has easy USB-C charging and a normal clicky switch.

    454

  • No, it produces a lot of light but is not very throwy. It is also shorter than expected and has a good hand feel, making it better as a compact EDC light than a long-range beam.

    jsaxler

  • Yes, if you want this specific model, buying sooner makes sense because older models in the line appear to be getting discontinued. That can affect availability and variant selection.

I actually like the looks of this one better, the matte black is nice. This is a bit shorter of a light and has a great feel in the hand. Produces a great amount of light, not super throwy but for $12 this is a great light.

Like most of these overdriven lights, it heats up very quickly, but good for short bursts. Drop a setting for continuous use. I picked mine up on Amazon with a code several months back for $19 and was happy with the performance at that price. Easy USB C charging and normal clicky switch make it a TU.

Guessing the original price is for first time customers. Once you sign in, you lose that discount.

If you aren't logged in, the price shown includes the Welcome Deal discount, and it says "Welcome Deal" under it. (Try it in private browser and you'll see.)

It always throws me off if I'm not logged in.

I just ordered this, but I got the green for $1 more. I much prefer the more neutral Nichia tint. The discount codes worked for that model, too.

Their batteries are maybe a cut below chinese manufacturers like Eve or Reliance. They just rewrap the batteries
