The Fiskars X25 is a lightweight splitting axe that gets high marks for fast, easy swings and strong leverage on firewood, especially compared with heavier mauls or shorter camp axes. The handle is described as effectively unbreakable, and the axe is said to handle most wood well, with tough knotty spruce as the main exception. The main caution is model confusion, since the X25 and the black 28 inch version appear to have different head weights. Availability also looks shaky, with reports of stock delays and possible discontinuation.
Home firewood splitters who want a light, easy-swinging axe because it handles most wood well and stays durable over years of use.
Campers who split logs at a campsite because the 28-inch length gives better leverage than shorter axes and it outperformed other axes on trips.
People replacing a heavy maul for regular splitting because this style is easier to swing and can become the tool they never go back from.
Shoppers who need the axe soon because orders have been delayed for weeks or cancelled when stock never arrived.
Buyers needing a specific head weight because X25 listings can vary and the model may not match the weight shown in the listing.
Campers who only need an occasional axe because this is better suited to splitting lots of logs than to most casual camping trips.
