It shows $3.08 for me. Meh. I buy the five pound bag every couple years, but for someone who uses very little pepper, this might be a nice way to have it fresh.

Where do you buy it from? We use quite a bit of pepper in our household.

Huh... I posted a reply, but it seems gone now.
I bought 5 pounds of "Rani" peppercorns five years ago for just over $25. They are $44 now. After looking around, I see you can buy an Amazon brand one pound bag for $10, which is not really much more. Search for "peppercorns" and you will find a few deals in the noise.
Even (almost) five years later, the "Rani" peppercorns grind up to a pepper that is not stale.
I use a brass hand grinder that I believe was sold for coffee beans. It still works perfectly. And I have a decent feel for how many cranks to get the amount I want (like going right into a soup). Or I can just crank it a hundred times to refill a pepper shaker.
