I have to agree with you. Same high-grade aluminum alloy 3004. I bought this about 6 years ago from Sam's and it's still going strong.

I've been going down the rabbithole of trying to find the safest non-stick pan. Of course Stainless steel or cast iron is the best but I want to have a non-stick for those morning eggs. From a google search this one has PTFE (poliflon) which I guess still has some form of PFAS, the forever chemicals or whatever. I've tried the ceramics but even following the "don't heat above medium" and "hand clean" and "dont use abrasive untensils" they still lose their coating fairly rapidly. Anyone find the perfect pan that keeps the longest coating at a reasonable price?

No pans sold in the USA have PFAS. PTFE is Teflon (it's what they make medical implants out for for lifetime use). It's perfectly safe dispite the fear mongering.

The fear of Teflon pans started from the PFAS that was used in the manufacturing process in the 80s. It's long since been outlawed.

One of the reasons it's safe (and non stick) is because it is utterly not chemically reactive.

The main risk is overheating which can cause the Teflon the breakdown into flourine gas which is not safe. (500F). This is well above normal cooking temperatures but is a risk if you put the pan on the burner on high without food or oil in the pan.

These pans are really good. I bought from Costco with 2 pack.
Out of all the dozens of different low-to-midpriced nonstick pans I've used over the past 30 years this is the most nonstick one I've found and I also got the 2-pack from Costco for $28? after getting the first one on sale on Amazon for around $20? I've had all 3 for about 4 years now and I'm super careful to only use the soft side of a nonscratch sponge as well as only silicone spatulas on it and they are all still just as extremely nonstick as they were from day one where I can cook an over easy egg in them without any oil and they release with just a light shake of the pan.

EDIT: The only problem with this pan is that the 2 rivets are not coated with nonstick material so EVERYTHING sticks to the rivets so be careful that none of the food touches those otherwise you have to scrub it off and in the process you'll inevitably also scrub some of the surrounding nonstick surface and damage it. My first pan has a small ring around each rivet where the nonstick surface doesn't work as well due to this happening but I've been more careful with the other 2 pans so I've been careful to never let any food touch those rivets. There are some other brand pans with coated rivets or even better with flat and coated rivets which I also own and those are a better design so if this pan had that upgrade then this would be the perfect pan.

Just a heads up - it says dishwasher safe, but because the bottom and sides are made of aluminum, they will likely turn gray/black if you do end up putting in the dishwasher

Reminder that this one isn't induction compatible, but if you've got an induction range you're probably already used to checking.

Are you sure about that? I could have sworn it had the induction logo on the box when I got mine. Maybe mine is different than this, though it has the same red handle...

Ok, so here's the thing. PFAS is the broader umbrella term for a larger group of synthetic chemicals. The PFOA's that were largely linked to cancer/bad stuff that got banned in 2013 was one specific type of PFAS but apparently there are 10's of thousands of different PFAS's which depending on who you read can be bad for you and Teflon is in that category (which has PFAS but not PFOA) which is why ceramics are popular because in theory those don't contain anything in the larger umbrella class of PFAS (but of course then they sell you can get silicate poison or something from the ceramic if it chips). I'm guessing best move is to just go with teflon and replace frequently to hopefully reduce likelihood of contaminants.

Sure is. These are identical to the Members Mark ones at Sam's Club that I bought last year. Great pans for the price.

Yup! They sell the exact same pans for less. I can only get the 10" pan without having to get them shipped, but they are great pans for the $$. Just wish they sold a set, verus having to get each individual size.

Maybe I'm missing something, but the Costco listing says they're induction safe

This is cheaper than when I bought it as a FP deal over three years ago and it's a good pan for the money. That said, I kept inadvertently hitting the longer handle and knocked it off the burner a couple times. So if you're a klutz like me, consider yourself warned.
Always move the handle to the side.. something that stuck with me when my friend's mom accidentally bumped the handle and knocked hot oil onto him (a toddler at the time) and it burned him and deformed his tongue!Frown
