i love this thing and i bought one. however they do not survive 1 person dropping it. I had 3 of these and only 1 left as someone in my house keeps breaking them. We have not discovered who is breaking them but its clearly from dropping it on to the ground.

Indeed - BPA was added to plastics to make them softer and more flexible. Now that its gone plastics are often hard as a rock and extremely fragile. I dropped an empty Brita pitcher once and it was toast. They are also slippery when wet. Just treat these like big eggshells and keep them from the edge of the counter.
