Community Reviews
The Emberton II is a compact Marshall Bluetooth speaker that stands out for its design and strong sound for the size. The consumer line is described as solid rather than a cheap rebrand, and the speaker has been praised for punching above its weight. The main caveats are the $99.99 price and the older Bluetooth setup, since Emberton II only supports SBC. It can pair with another Emberton II, while Emberton III cannot, so this model has a useful edge for stereo setups.
Common Questions (5)
It has a strong design and is widely regarded as a solid consumer speaker with sound that can punch above its weight. The main hesitation is value at this price, especially since the Emberton III is also available around the same price and adds newer features.
The Emberton II is the 2022 model, while the Emberton III is the 2024 refresh. The III adds AAC and LC3 codec support, but the II keeps the ability to pair with another same-model speaker, which the III lacks.
No. The consumer line is described as a solid product rather than a cheap rebrand, and the design is attributed to Swedish industrial design firm Norra Norr even though manufacturing is in China.
Yes. The Emberton II is limited to SBC, which can mean higher latency and lower sound quality than better codecs. The Emberton III adds AAC and LC3, so it is the better option if codec support matters.
Yes. The Emberton II can pair with another Emberton II for stereo-style playback. The Emberton III cannot pair to another speaker, even another Emberton III, so the II is the better pick if that feature matters.

As far as design, the consumer line doesn't have its origins in either the main Marshall group nor some random Chinese factory shop recruited by a PE firm. They're from the Swedish industrial design firm Norra Norr, which has done a few licensed brand projects (WeSC, Marshall, and also a mediocre in-house one called Urbanears). Marshall bluetooth speakers are among the best in their category and compare well with Bose. I'm not sure if Norra Norr is still involved, but the brand's new models still sound good.
