Note, Amazon exchange rate when redeeming points for purchases on Amazon:
Amazon shows my redemption value as:
1 point = $0.008
2,404 ThankYou® Points Is worth $19.23. So I wouldn't recommend redeeming points for purchases on Amazon normally since you are basically losing $5 for every 2500 Thank you points compared to the cash back when redeeming from Citi to your bank account or a statement credit. This deal here by OP really only nets me $5. Does this sound right or am I mistaken?

You can look at it as a 20% bonus on your $25 of points value spent ($5 bonus on $25) or more accurately you should look at this as 16.67% savings on a $30 spend at amzn.
Around Thanksgiving, again as others have mentioned, some GCs are discounted at 20% off their face value. If you shop at these stores, that represents a greater savings, but I've never seen stores like amzn or wmt included in those GC discounts.
Conclusion: If you see a 16.67% discount at amzn as more valuable to you than a 20% discount at another store usually included in the ThankYou GC discounts around black friday, then by all means, redeem this. If you prefer to save the additional 3.33% on GCs at one of these other stores, then save your points to redeem at that time. Just don't redeem more than the $20 in points necessary to earn this bonus at amzn or your savings starts to diminish.
