YMMV according to the credit limit after signing up. I personally chose the Best Buy Visa Citi Credit Card, and the credit limit I got was $5000. I tried asking for a limit increase within minutes of being approved, but that was denied - don't bother attempting to get a credit limit increase (guarantee you'll be declined).

Important: buy the best buy plus membership (approx. $60 I recall) so you have 60 days to return everything. The Best Buy bucks settle into your bestbuy account 14 days after purchase, so that's why you must purchase the plus membership.

At this point you have 14 days to randomly purchase items (purchase them all on 1 single order, or within 24 hours of that very first purchase) as close as possible to your exact credit limit.

Important: purchase only items sold by best buy (I don't recall if you must buy items that are not on sale - I believe I only bought items that were not on sale), NOT 3rd party sellers!

Store what you purchased together when they arrive at your doorstep for ease of returning everything.

Now wait 14 days for your best buy bucks to arrive. You'll almost certainly going to have to pay your credit card bill when it's due during all this (you'll get the $ back later; I'll indicate further down).

Once all bucks are in your bestbuy account go ahead and redeem them for reward certificates.

Don't return any items just yet. Make your large purchase and apply those best buy certificates (my memory says I used approx. 6 certificates and saving approx. $650). I bought a MacBook Pro Series laptop.

Enjoy your new purchase (that you're keeping), but DON'T RETURN all those items just yet because more best buy bucks will hit your account again due to your new purchase.

Once your next round of bucks hits your account from the item you're keeping, redeem them for certificates and purchase something using those certificates (in my case I got an additional $120 in certificates because the MacBook was spendy at approx. $2300 give or take post using all the certificates).

Await the arrival of your final item that you'll keep.

Now is the time to return all those initial items you bought for this trick. Zero questions were asked when I returned everything.

Call up the credit card company and ask for the negative balance money sent to you. They'll mail a check or directly deposit the $ into your bank account basdd on your preference.

Don't forget to cancel your best buy plus membership after all is done.

Price below includes taxes:
$3393.96 (MacBook Pro if purchased without method annotated) + $29.99 (My Best Buy Plus Membership) - $2492.60 (MacBook Pro price using method annotated) - $134.06 ($214.49 - $134.06 = $80.43 for Nvidia Shield Pro using best buy bucks received from MacBook Pro purchase) = $797.29 Total Savings.

This equates to:
Total cost paid using method=$2492.60+$29.99+$80.43=$2603.02
Total cost paid without using method =$3393.96+$214.49=$3608.45)

Total % Saving ($797.29/$3608.45*100) = ~22%

Final few notes:
-- I saw a period where the credit card offer was 15% in best buy reward bucks; currently it's 10% (that's the % when I signed up; but I did visit the store and notify them that shortly after signing up it changed to 15% - they generously gave me a $250 gift card).
-- Notice any 10% off promos / $20 promos / etc. that you can take advantage (simply be activating them) of when making your purchase as well.

If someone notices a mistake [or an additional trick I didn't bother doing - like purchasing even more stuff but without the extra % reward bucks you get on first purchase and immediately paying Citi right after purchase and/or overpaying Citi $1M perhaps ;-)... (dang, I should've done that for the initial first purchase)] within what I provided above please leave a comment to help others.

JUST REMEMBER TO RETURN YOUR "TRICK" PURCHASED ITEMS WITHIN 60 DAYS!

I am intrigued but it's not clear exactly what the deal is here. How much are you "making" in exchange for a hard credit pull?

Is it just that 10-15% promo?

So, if you bought $5k worth of stuff, you get 15% back ($750)? That's the take here?

It sounds good, I just want to be clear about the details.

I think this veers closer to fraud than theft.

There is a fine line between slick deal , and cheating the system . Even if it's morally ok , why would you go through all of that to make few bucks .

I've revised the post to show the calculations. In my case the total percentage off was 22%.
For some I can understand why a hard credit pull may matter, but in my case I personally have zero reasons why I should care about a hard credit pull. TBH I just signed up (and approved) for a Delta Platinum AMEX CC to get a bunch of skymiles and the credit limit received on the CC is $28k. I've never been concerned about opening up numerous CCs.

Legitimately not my attempt. Legally, fraud has a different meaning and is not defined as you believe; just stating facts.

My opinion differs from yours. Sooo Smart! I was honestly just trying to be helpful is all, but I guess the people on here are more rude/hateful than considerate and professional.

You're right, maybe "slick deal" isn't the right terminology for this. "Slick method" is more appropriate.
If someone was to use the slick method in conjunction with a slick deal then your percentage off would be a "super slick deal method".
In my case I purchased a med/high level newest M5 chip MacBook Pro, so the discounts/deals on those at this current time are limited.
