The Galaxy Tab A11+ stands out as a budget Android tablet for everyday use, media, browsing, and light family tasks, with solid audio, decent performance for non gaming apps, and Samsung's long update support. The $169 price is repeatedly framed as strong value, especially versus similarly priced Lenovo options, and the tablet is also seen as useful for a home assistant dashboard. The main drawbacks are the missing S Pen support, no video out, and only 6GB of RAM, which can limit heavier games and make the display feel less impressive than some rivals. It is a practical pick if you want Samsung support and basic tablet duties more than premium extras.

  • Families buying a basic tablet for kids, because it handles YouTube and casual use well while lasting longer with Samsung's update support.

  • Shoppers prioritizing long software support, because Samsung's update promise is much longer than many low-end tablets.

  • People who mainly browse, email, and watch videos, because it feels smooth for everyday non-gaming tasks and has no noticeable lag.

  • Home dashboard setups, because it can work well as a dedicated home assistant display.

Do you happen to wear a tinfoil hat? Homes aren't so complicated, but automating certain things in your home is great. Turning things off from you phone is also very convenient.

What do you really need to "automate"? Sprinklers? A simple $5 timer can do that. Sounds like a complicated solution to a problem that doesn't really exist.

I have a smart water shut off valve that will turn off when water runs too long. I can check the status and turn off remote. My pool pump is also smart so I can turn in and off while working on the pool. Smoke detectors notification when they go off. Door locks to control remotely, also video doorbell. Garage door notifications and I can go on and on.

Sounds like a security nightmare.

do keep in mind that while, yes, this samsung has 6GB RAM vs lenovo's 8GB, the samsung does have a 7000-series processor and 7 android major Android updates vs lenovo's 6000-series and 2 major updates. really depends on your priorities. cheers!
Samsung does not give 7 major Android updates, they give 7 years of security updates. Those are not the same things.

it could certainly be that what i read was misinformation:

"Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Tab A11+ is officially eligible for seven years of both Android OS upgrades and security updates, supporting the device through 2032."

sorry about that if so!

edited to add:

"Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab A11+ with One UI 8.0 (Android 16) and promised to offer it seven major OS upgrades and seven years of security updates."

Well, that's actually pretty fantastic. Smilie Thanks for responding. I could've sworn I read it as 7 yrs security updates, but I guess I was mistaken. Very nice!

Got two for $125 thru Samsung EPP. Weighed it against the Lenovo Tab Pro at $245 (after urlhasbeenblocked cashback), but felt it good enough for my 9 and 8 year-olds at half the price. Plan is to upgrade to a flagship Samsung 3-4 years from now when they really get into gaming.
