I don't really think one even can compares THESE APM2 to the XM5 at this point other than pure price.. the APM2 are just going to be noticeable superior in every category at this point, noticeably other than possibly weight. So if price is most important to you, then XM5 it is.. and that $150 assuming you can get it is a very good price on those cans.

I purchased these at full price when Gen 1 came out, back in 2021. The design, fit and finish were almost worth the asking price to me. It was something I wanted to own. Digging deeper, the sound was as good as anything you could get with bluetooth headphones, and they worked great with everything Mac. I already had the Bose QC to compare to tho, and these were very heavy in comparison to what I'd been used to so I ended up returning them. In the end, wireless sound just wasn't good enough at the time to justify the cost of these for me. I purchased this deal to see how much the H2 chip may/may not have improved sound quality and also for the other improvements Apple has made on these in the past five years. I also miss owning a pair. They looked pretty great on my desk. $399, and with advancements like H2 chip, better firmware, language support, USB C...etc. Might be the sweet spot.
** Looks like Amazon stock has run out again on all colors besides black. Costco is completely sold out. Walmart's site says the deal is 91% gone, so we're getting close to the end of this deal.

These headphones can cause tinnitus. If you get them, use them in the Off mode and stay away from active noise cancellation and transparency modes.

No you dont. Applecare is there as long as your total tech sub is active and goes away right after your sub expired. It is not "technically" free.
