This digital Costco eShop card deal is mainly useful for lowering Nintendo spending, including toward Switch 2 purchases and game credit. The cards arrive fast by email, and the discount can bring a Switch 2 purchase down to roughly $413 before taxes. The main catches are frequent order cancellations and fraud checks, especially on repeat purchases or mismatched billing details. The savings are also modest versus other promos, and the balance cap can limit using the cards for hardware.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes, orders can be canceled by Costco's fraud checks, especially for multiple purchases or when billing details do not match the membership address. Some orders are canceled within minutes or hours, while a replacement order may go through on a second attempt.

  • The Costco price works out to about 20% off, and one calculation puts a Switch 2 bought with these discounted cards at around $413 before taxes. A competing promo mentioned is $15 off $75 at Safeway-brand stores, which can be better if you shop there.

  • Yes, they can be used toward Switch 2 hardware from Nintendo's store, and one purchase strategy is to load enough eShop credit to cover the console price plus taxes. The account balance limit can matter, since the eShop balance cannot exceed $250 USD at once.

  • Delivery can be very fast, with the gift card email arriving about 5 minutes after ordering. Some orders also clear after a short fraud hold and then arrive in roughly 15 minutes to 2 hours.

  • The product description says you can buy up to 10 every 2 weeks, but they must be purchased in one transaction. If you need more sooner, the warehouse is an alternative.

This deal is better. $425 (5*85) for a Switch 2 with bundled game
Costco membership isn't free. Add $65.

I bought enough to get a Switch 2 yesterday. Got the email with the gift cards almost immediately, maybe 5 minutes after placing the order. Windows and Bitdefender thought the website was malicious so I had to make exceptions to claim, but it worked.

Comes out to around $413 for the switch 2 using these discounted cards.

Safeway brand stores have had Nintendo cards are $15 on $75, no membership needed. This is not a deal .

This one? Technically a $15 Safeway coupon after you buy $75 in gift cards. Good if you shop at Safeway, but not if you want a straight discount.

I remember just a few years ago when they were selling $100 of cards for Nintendo, Xbox, or PlayStation for $80 each.

I've been sitting on an unused $70 card sold for $50 by Walmart from 2021, along with unused $60 balance from older sales. Now waiting for delivery of $400 in cards from Costco so I can buy the Switch 2 bundle.
