This iPad Air M4 deal stands out for strong performance, a familiar 11 inch form factor, and enough storage headroom to avoid constant app deletions and update hassles. The 256GB option gets the most enthusiasm, and older 5th gen cases appear to fit. Costco also looks attractive for AppleCare or tablet protection, with lower protection pricing and a 90 day return window. The main drawbacks are the extra shipping and California fee, and a competing Best Buy cellular M3 price that undercuts it. A solid pick if you want more room and smoother everyday use.
The M4 iPad Air can reduce storage-related friction during software updates compared with an older iPad Air 5th Gen.
The Wi‑Fi + cellular model can feel more seamless than relying on phone tethering for internet access.
Costco can be a better option for AppleCare+ shoppers because it lists AppleCare coverage at $59.99 for two years.
Costco's protection option can provide accidental damage coverage without a deductible, which can simplify repair costs.
Costco can add extra fees beyond shipping, including a $4.00 CA fee that may push shoppers toward Amazon instead.
The Costco deal may not be the lowest available price because Best Buy reportedly offers an M3 cellular 128GB model for $480.
The Allstate/Costco protection plan can exclude theft and loss, which can be a drawback for shoppers worried about device security.
Some buyers may still experience app reloading on older iPads, and the M4 upgrade is only an assumption for fixing that behavior.

My old iPad Air (5th Gen) is always having to uninstall everything to do any software updates, so it'll be nice to not have to do that anymore. Bonus is the form factor is the same, and it appears old cases (from 5th gen on) will fit.

Even the 128GB is good enough.
The specs are just amazing.
But here is some food for thought...
Mac Book Pro and this may have the identical CPU... but they have a completely different OS and do not share the same software!!!
It's time for apple to merge the two OS systems if they are using the same powerful CPUs.
