Great price. I have this TV and love it. If you want an Art TV, it's hard to beat, imho. It doesn't need a separate box like the Samsung Frame or Frame Pro, and has a better picture than the TCL. I love the Google TV interface. And it also comes with a nice, magnetic frame. Best buy has it at the same price FYI.

Hisense's Canvas TV stands out as an art focused 4K set that blends into a room, with a magnetic frame, Google TV, and a matte screen aimed at cutting glare in bright spaces. The wall art look and flush mounting are the main appeal, especially for living rooms with lots of sunlight. Picture quality and sound draw sharp criticism, with reports that it is inferior to TCL QM7 and LG OLED and that audio is very poor. It seems best suited to buyers who care more about the art display and anti glare finish than theater grade TV performance.

Common Questions (4)

  • It is designed for bright rooms and can work well against glare, especially with its matte coating. One installation in a room with windows and skylights reported that sunlight disappeared against the screen after removing the protective film, though the TV is still positioned as a bright-room/art-focused model rather than a top-tier picture set.

  • If you do not care about the art aspect, it is a poor value for most buyers. The TV is described as being meant to blend into a room like wall art, and its picture and sound are reported as worse than cheaper alternatives.

  • Yes, an existing mount can be used, but it will not sit as flush as the TV's own mounting system. Using the included-style mounting approach keeps it closer to the wall, while a standard mount can leave it a couple inches out.

  • Yes, it comes with a magnetic frame and does not need a separate box like the Samsung Frame or Frame Pro. That makes it a cleaner all-in-one art TV setup for people who want the framed look without extra hardware.

If you don't care about the art aspect there is ZERO reason to buy this tv. It is very specifically meant to be used as art and blend into the surroundings. It looks and sounds like shit and costs 2-3 times more than a cheapo better looking tv.signed, person who kinda regrets buying one but I still like the art aspect and ah well whatya gonna do
Do you know of a better option for aggressive anti-glare? Matte anti-glare finishes are so rare that most recommendations seem to be to just get a bright enough TV to overpower the sun, which I'm skeptical of (and super bright TVs aren't cheap either).

I would see what rtings has to say about it, I know they test for reflectivity and bright room usage. I know the site is kinda wonky with the new paywall but hopefully you can figure something out.

Yeah, I saw that article, which is where I saw they recommended the Samsung S95, a high end super bright Hisense, and then several bright TVs without a matte coating that sounded like they wouldn't be able to handle direct sunlight. That's why I was asking about cheaper alternatives, and this art TV seemed like the cheapest model with a matte anti glare finish.

Edit: Looks like the 2026 Hisense U7 does have a matte coating and is on sale for $600 for the 55", though apparently the 55" model specifically has significantly larger dimming zones than the other sizes, so I'm a bit wary. It's still probably a better option than this Canvas TV, though.

Avoid anything made by Hisense. It's a Chinese brand which just imitates other companies. I would put more faith in Samsung. They have their own issues but their components are higher quality.

But the Samsung is like 2-3x the price. And I don't think I've paid more than $200 for a TV, so it's not like I'm a snob-- most of the visual improvements would be wasted on me. The only reason I'm looking at a new TV is because of really nasty glare in this house that makes a normal TV almost unwatchable.
