I don't usually worry about screen resolution but a 1080p 27" that you'll be sitting very close to is pretty insane

27" 1080p, you won't be sitting close, but you will probably see more pixels on the screen.

I'm sitting in front of a 27" 1080p monitor at work right now. It's absolutely fine.

Of course I prefer my 27" 4k monitor at home, but I think you're being dramatic.
