I have a pair of Sennheiser over the ear that I love, but I've been burned on a lot of ear buds lately. Anybody have a pair that can vouch?
What phone do you have, it usually helps. Also what buds have burned you?
Personally im on pixel 10 pro with the google buds pro 2. love them. like the cmf pros 2 on sale right now. $47ish if i remember
Ive been using these for maybe a year now. Battery Don't last as long as the Sony's and noise cancelling not as good but thry are comfortable and no complaints. I have really likes these sennheisers. 6 hours is probably pushing it with battery life but I just use one ear bud at a time, throw the other in the case to charge and it doesnt take too long to charge up. Case is also bigger than the Sony's. Sometimes the bud doesnt sit right in the case where it doesnt hit the contact to charge just right but I just take an extra moment to make sure its seated right. Sound quality though is excellent even around a year old.
Also, get the best buy warranty when you get ear buds. I swap mine every year with a new model, pay for the new warrenty and each year you can upgrade the model at a discount before battery life fails.
The BOSE Quiet Comfort Ultra earbuds... esp the 2.0 version, but both 1.0 and 2.0 have excellent sound reproduction, solid bass, and exceptional ANC.
Do not buy Bose. They will break just outside of warranty. Everything the reviews say about Bose is true. I have own multiple versions of their wired and wireless earbuds and rhey all break the same—glue comes off the buds and/or one of the ears stop working.

Loved the sound of these, but I only got a year out of them before one bud suddenly was weak and dull sounding. Kept using them for a few weeks to mow the lawn and other passive listening, but then the batteries failed--wouldn't charge at all. Apparently both these issues are very common if you read the reviews. I got the Technics AZ-100 and very happy with them. I think I prefer the Sennheiser sound a tiny bit more, but I wouldn't call the Technics bad--just different... a bit more technical/clinical. Some people may like it more.

JBL Tour Pro 3 recently on sale for $180 commonly $200-$220. Wasnon sennheisers for years. Best all around daily driver imo way better sound than airpods etc.

I have a Galaxy S25. So far JLab, Skullcandy and Nothing have all been pretty meh. The Skullcandy wouldn't connect to my phone when it was in my pocket. The JLab I got after the Skullcandy as a cheaper alternative, and the Nothing were a recommendation and so far I can't finish a 30 minute walk without them pausing whatever I'm listening to at least once, without being touched.
I'm looking for something with good sound that will stay in my ear and stay connected on my walks to work.

Do you know how the warranty works for open-box conditions? There are some fair and excellent ones near me but the warranty is a lot cheaper for the fair ones.
May be a worthless anecdote, but my 2s broke JUST out of warranty (right bud wouldn't work at all (full battery) unless I smacked it hard, at which point it would crackle sound and then go back out.)
Sennheiser CS was very patient in helping me troubleshoot, but nothing worked. They offered me a $50 coupon for my trouble, which I didn't use, but thought was decent of them.
I still have pair of OTE from 2002 (wired) that still work well.

Wouldn't they have to determine that it's broken before they replace it?
