I have gone literally A YEAR using a very, very old router I had packed up in a box because my asus router died. And in all that time never does a good asus router that is not overkill and is not a travel router go on sale. I keep waiting and waiting and every asus that goes on sale is either some weird model with 0 reviews, a travel router, or a crazy multiple hundreds of dollars overkill touter.

I rather just pickup a refurbished hotspot instead nothing to really gain here imo

Call it a travel router and suddenly it's worth >$100 and a deal at $95. Meanwhile, you can't give away an old router let alone sell one used for $10.
