Potbelly is coming through as a solid value play for a filling sandwich meal, especially if you want to stretch a pickup order with gift cards. The promotion gives an Original free when you buy a Big or Original, and the Original is already described as very filling. The best savings come from stacking with discounted Potbelly gift cards from Sam's Club or Costco, which can cut the effective price further. The main catch is that the free sandwich is always Original, and the offer appears to be online only.
Common Questions (5)
Yes. The deal can be stacked with discounted Potbelly gift cards, including Sam's Club cards and Costco gift cards, which lowers the effective price further. One reported stack uses Sam's Club $50 cards sold for $37.12.
Yes. The promotion gives a free Original sandwich whether you buy a Big or an Original, so the free item is not a Big. That makes the deal more like buy one get one Original rather than a true BOGO on the larger size.
It appears to be online only. A prior online purchase also had a gift card activation problem that was difficult to return, so ordering through the app or website may carry that risk.
Yes, the Original is already described as very filling, so many shoppers may not need to buy the Big to get good value. The deal still works either way because the free sandwich is an Original.
Yes. A working redemption flow is to load physical Sam's Club Potbelly gift cards into the Potbelly app and place a pickup order there. That setup was reported to work without issues.

I could see it refreshing once per day, but I could also see it being one usage.
