This bundle centers on a Ryzen 7 9800X3D platform with an ASUS TUF X870E board, Samsung 990 Pro 2TB SSD, and a Cooler Master 240mm all in one cooler, making it strongest for a fresh high end gaming build. The X3D chip is praised for not caring much about RAM speed, and the included SSD and brand new parts help offset the price. The main gap is RAM, and the CPU has no integrated graphics, so a graphics card, DDR5 memory, case, power supply, and Windows or Linux still need to be added. It is a cleaner fit for someone building around a new platform than for a nearly complete system.

  • The bundle can be a solid buy for shoppers who need an SSD immediately.

  • The bundle can be competitive because it includes brand-new components like the SSD and AIO cooler.

  • X3D CPUs can be less sensitive to RAM speed, which may let shoppers save money on DDR5.

  • The bundle does not include DDR5 RAM, so additional memory must be purchased separately.

  • The 9800X3D requires a dedicated GPU because it has no iGPU, so display output needs a graphics card.

  • Building from the bundle requires extra parts like a case, PSU, and possibly case fans, which reduces completeness.

Last year's price is not today's price.

You would need a case, power supply (psu), DDR5 RAM and a graphics card (gpu). Maybe case fans if the case you buy doesn't include them. You could find a cheap operating system key or go the Linux route.
Just buying the RAM kit will kill this deal

Feels warm. Most of us don't need a $300 mobo and a Gen4 SSD is way overpriced.
CPU - $400 on sale (free AIO CPU cooler with CPU)
Mobo - $150-200 (comparable or sale)
2 GB SSD - $200-250 (normal Gen4 prices, if we ever see them again)
These three would realistically cost $750-850 together. For some this is solid if they need an SSD now

Yeah sadly, this IS a great deal. A few weeks ago I finished buying a comparable mobo along with this same chip, USED, for about $600 and that was the cheapest way to get this chip into my system at the time that didn't involve Microcenter. The SSD probably makes up the gap by itself, you save probably like $80 on the AIO and get the advantage of having all brand-new components. I'd have loved this deal.

Weird deals, mobo without the cpu, cpu's without the memory etc. I think most need the mobo, cpu AND memory.

At this point, AM4 + DDR4 RAM FTW ๐Ÿ˜Ž
It depends on one important thing... Do you currently own an AM4 board and all you're interested is a drop in replacement say a 2700X 3700X to that 5800X3D? And all you do is gaming? Sure get a 5800X3D whenever it comes out in a few days. However, for everyone else who don't have an AM4 system currently - investing in the new platform is definitely the way to go. Even if it's just a B850 board and a 9600X. My 2ยข.

Still need:
  • DDR5 RAM โ€“ DDR5-6000 CL30 32GB is the sweet spot for this platform (G.Skill Flare X5 or Corsair Vengeance)
  • GPU โ€“ 9800X3D has no iGPU so nothing will display without one
  • Case โ€“ needs to fit ATX
  • PSU โ€“ 750W+ 80+ Gold depending on what GPU you go with
  • Windows license if you need one
Nice thing about X3D chips is that they don't care too much about RAM speed. Save yourself some cash during these crazy times.

I'll easily be able to afford the RAM with all my profits from sk hynix and SanDisk stock.
