These Seventh Generation Free and Clear dishwasher packs are being framed as a strong low price on a plant based pod, with checkout math putting them around 9 cents per pod when Subscribe and Save, multibuy discounts, and digital credits stack. The appeal is convenience and a cleaner ingredient profile, especially for households avoiding harsh chemicals or PVAs. The main cautions are performance and packaging concerns, with reports of extra suds, soapy film, and weaker cleaning on stuck on grease or silverware. A practical option if the price matters more than maximum cleaning power.

  • Buyers avoiding plastic-heavy cleaning products, because the formula is appealing to people trying to move away from pods with plastics or PVAs.

  • Shoppers comparing per-wash costs, because the pack can land around nine cents per pod with multibuy and Subscribe & Save discounts.

  • Households washing lightly soiled dishes, because the pods clean well when food residue is minimal.

  • Families wanting a premeasured dishwasher pod, because pods avoid powder dosing mistakes and keep cleanup consistent.

  • Homes with baked-on grease or heavily soiled pans, because the pods struggle to remove stuck-on residue.

  • Dishwashers that leave detergent residue, because the pods can be extra sudsy and may spill or leave a soapy film.

  • Shoppers who want the strongest grease-cutting performance, because cheaper granular detergent can work better on tough loads.

  • People who need every silverware load to come out spotless, because the alternative tabs can leave silverware not fully cleaned.

I typically concentrate on the one star reviews and they indicate this brand is extra sudsy in a negative way as depending on your machine, they can spill out or worse leave a soapy tasting film. I'll stick to Cascade and Finish.
I think this reflects the machine of the users, not the product. I've gone through several bags of these and not once noticed more suds than other major or store brands.

Just buy the powder and you can save more because you get more... I don't get the obsession with pods
Yes, powder can be less expensive, but a person has to dose correct amount. People often use too much powder and lose the savings it can provide. Pods eliminate that problem, so I get why some are attracted to the convenience factor. We've switched to cakes like Blueland and Finish classic.

GREAT DEAL! I've stopped using the pods because of plastic, but the cheap Slickdealer in me is finding this hard to resist
Why? You do know that the racks are coated in plastic*. Likewise, any plastic you put in there (part of tongs, lids, cutlery, brushes, etc) will also "contaminate" your dishes with microplastics. If you use a DW, you cannot get away from microplastics on your dishes and silverware, etc.

*I had to buy new used racks, and I needed to remove any rust and treat them with liquid vinyl and caps on the tines. They're all vinyl but at least the caps are BPA free.
