The HD 600 is a reference-style open-back headphone known for its very flat tuning and long-term build quality. It is praised as a classic benchmark, with strong value at this price and a reputation that has held up for decades. The main catch is power, since the 300 ohm design is repeatedly described as needing an amp to reach full potential. The clamp can also feel tight at first, though stretching can loosen it. A solid pick if you want neutral sound and can drive it properly.

These headphones are extremely flat sounding and might sound boring for some if you are coming from headphones like xm5, AirPods, beats or any V shape headphones. You also need a amp with these

It's the same with the HD-560s but you can easily use the Peace equalizer on PC to make them sound AMAZING and no longer flat. They are just flat out of the box because they are reference headphones.

Grade of A- according to Crinacle's list. This deal might tip it towards 3 stars in the value category.

The clamping force might be very tight for some people. There's a few tricks to loosen it up, such as stretching it over a basketball or a thick pile of books.

From what I've seen, this is the lowest price these headphones have been maybe ever? If I didn't already own a pair of HD650s I'd be on this in a heartbeat. Speaking of: the HD650 headphones are $285 during Prime Day [amazon.com]. Yes, the HD6xx is essentially the same headphone but cheaper, but I personally really like the build of the HD650.

I have had the 580's for over 20 yrs. Crazy good quality headphones. You should get an amp for them though.

Any insight on how this compares to the Edition XS?
