Mario Tennis Fever on Switch 2 comes across as a fun, kid-friendly Mario sports game that shines most in multiplayer and with family or friends. The roster and presentation get a nod, and the game has been seen as low as $39.97 to $40 at Costco, which may be close to its floor. The main knocks are a weak single-player mode, a fairly dead public online lobby, and a price that still feels high for what it offers. It looks best for local play rather than solo grinding.

Common Questions (4)

  • It has been spotted at $39.97-$40 at select Costco locations during the sale week. Several comments suggest that may be the cheapest price it will reach.

  • Single-player is widely described as the weakest part, and it can drag review scores down. It's a better fit if you'll play with family or friends rather than treating it as a solo game.

  • Yes, it's described as very fun for kids and generally enjoyable in multiplayer. The main caveat is that it may lose appeal quickly if you don't have people to play with regularly.

  • The public online lobby is reportedly pretty dead, so online matchmaking may be sparse. The game is better when played with someone else locally or with a group you already know.

Single player was rated pretty bad, so while it was tempting, decided against it.

Historically $40 at Costco! Unless you have family or friends who'll actually play with you, this is one of those Nintendo games that looks amazing in the trailer and then quietly becomes shelf décor after a few weekends. A hard pass for me.

Finally at the proper price it should've been released at. Never should've been $70.

Now to wait for an actual sale.

Game not worth it. You see variety of Mario world characters. I got it from Costco for 40$. yet not worth it.

Any recent Mario sports game doesn't seem worth more than $15

Mario sports games are always tons of fun for about a day then they burn out fast. They'll never do this, but combining them all (Tennis, Soccer, whatever) into one game would make it worth these prices. Mario and Sonic Olympic Games is the perfect example. It'll never happen tho lol.
