I was waiting for Prime Day to order this lithium ion version, which dropped from $88 to $55. It's rated for two hours instead of 1, and has two more guards of "1/2" and "1 1/2". (Plus a bonus AA trimmer): https://a.co/d/0gWEEFvU
The Wahl Color Pro Cordless is a budget-friendly clipper and beard trimmer that shines for quick home cuts, beard trimming, and learning the basics. The colored guards are especially handy, the attachment case stores everything neatly, and the cordless version can run for several haircuts per charge. It also works while plugged in, which helps when the battery fades. The main drawbacks are weaker battery life and cutting power than lithium models, plus no fine taper lever, so thick hair and cleaner fades can be harder. A practical starter set if you want simple, low-cost grooming.
People trimming beards at home, because it works well for beard trimming and stays easy to use for regular upkeep.
Battery life is reported around 3-4 haircuts per charge, but some units have weak or dead batteries over time. It still works when plugged in, so corded use can keep it usable even if the battery degrades.
It works well for beard trimming and for keeping hair short, and one long-term user says it can handle weekly cuts. It may struggle on a full head of thick hair, where more power is needed.
No, this model does not have a lever for finely adjusting cut length and it lacks the adjustable taper with 1/2 increments. If you want more precise length control, a different Wahl model or a higher-end clipper may be a better fit.
Yes, the colored guards are especially helpful for quick identification and for users with poor vision. The set also includes a better selection of guides than some similar budget clippers.
Yes, it has a switching power supply that supports 100-220V charging, which makes it practical for travel and shipboard use. It can also deliver about 3-4 haircuts per charge, which helps when outlets are limited.
I bought this earlier this year to replace a similar Remington buzzer. This one comes with a better selection of guides and is cheaper, but I feel like the Remington performed better, just felt like it gave a more consistent length and requires going over the same area less times.
It's fine though.
I bought the wired version of this a long time ago; you only need several buzz cuts for it to get your dollars' worth.
At least for me, the case is large enough for all the attachments, you don't have to think too much & play tetris for everything to fit when you put them away.
Saved so much money using one of these for 20+ years. Once you get the hang of it, it's quick and easy. At $25, this is solid trimmer to experiment and learn with!
I love these clippers. Mainly because I work on ships at sea for half the year. These have a switching power supply so you can charge them on 100-220V power. I used to have the OG wired Wahl with color guides but that sucker wasn't rated for anything other than 110V and if frequency wasn't exactly 70Hz would make crazy noises and not cut properly. These guys can cut my hair 3-4 times on a charge and are perfect for keeping it short, especially in the summer time!
My awesome barber, a bit pricey, uses Wahl brand. So we found a set, not as colorful, mostly black and gray, for like $60. This colorful one looks about the same as ours, but more user friendly looking. The clippers work great. If I didn't have a Wahl set already, I'd get this one.
FYI, these are NiMH batteries, so they don't provide the same cutting power as their lithium cousin. They will struggle on thicker hair. They also don't have the adjustable taper to get ½ increments.
ive had this for a few years, as somebody with shitty vision, i love the colored guards, but the actual trimmer is a bit shit. battery was cooked long ago and its really only worked when plugged in. $25 is pretty cheap, but im going to go with a better trimmer.

Can't speak to this cordless version for sure, but the corded one (which is apparently only $5 per another commenter) has been an awesome buy for me. I haven't paid for a haircut in over half a decade!
