Some things to consider:

  • CAP is a good company. I've bought a few things from them, and while there were some manufacturing issues with them, CAP replaced the bad parts for free and were easy to deal with. Definitely better than a no-name brand.
  • These will likely smell badly when you receive them. Not guaranteed but highly probable. They can be cleaned or left in the sun to "off gas", so it's not permanent, just annoying depending where your gym is.
  • Bumper plates are a pain to store if you have limited space. Some of the "standard" racks out there, like the ones that CAP sells, won't fit these because of the uniform diameter. If your gym is in a tight space, consider cast iron instead.
  • Less than $1/lb is a good price but not incredible. Last Christmas season, there were many, many deals for $0.50/lb or close to it. No way to say if that will happen again but figured I'd mention it.
  • Your delivery guy is going to hate you. 😀

Waiting for the price to get back down to what we saw last Christmas before I buy any. But thanks for the recap
