Funny went to product page and it says I purchased this back in 2019 for $11. That's one thing I like about Amazon, is the purchase history.

They are but they are a PITA to get out the case. I almost need pliers sometimes but still a good price for hex shank with the larger 1/2" bit

Pretty good. I like them better than the equivalent hex shank bits from other brands like dewalt and Milwaukee because the smaller ones are about a 1/4" longer. Other brands' bits below 1/8" are stumpy like mechanic bits.

These can be a little hard to remove and put into the case but that's no big deal.

Did the same in 2024. I agree the bits are hard to get out but they have been quality bits.

Do not buy at any price. These bits fail (break off from the hex base) at an alarming rate. Ask me how I know.

They do come very sharp though. They don't stay sharp but these are legitimately a 1-time use bit.

I suggest you pass.

I haven't experienced that though I suppose manufacturing could have changed.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank MX400ex72

If you check the 1 star Amazon reviews, a lot of them are from the last few months and all sort of the same with them breaking easily. As someone else in this thread has mentioned.

Perhaps quality isn't the same as what it previously was.

Do other bit sets get cheaper? Would rather save money if it's going to break anyways. Should I just buy a cheap set from harbor freight then?

I bought these about 8 years back for a few cents lower. My experience has been that the smaller bits do break when drilling into harder material; but still that has been my experience with most other brands as well in the smaller bit category drilling into harder material. It has been a learning experience as to how to drill carefully and at lower speeds without applying too much pressure in order for them to not break when drilling into harder material.
At this price, I am buying as a refill for the broken bits.
