KitchenAid mixers are still quality BIFL products. However, whoever owns the KitchenAid brand for kitchen accessories has yet to make a quality product in any category. I have regretted every single KitchenAid accessory purchase I have ever made. The knives are terrible, the can opener is bad, the list goes on. For peelers, buy the universally recommended 3-pack like these from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083PQL...RhaWw&th=1

KitchenAid hand-assembles all stand mixers in a single plant in Greenville, Ohio - which has been making KitchenAid mixers at the same location for more than 80 years. I'm not sure there is any real evidence that mixer quality has declined in the last decade, the last two decades, or the last 3 decades. Same US owner - Whirlpool. Same factory. Same people. Same design. Could they have made one bad mixer? Sure. Is it likely that something dramatic has happened to systematically lessen the quality of the top mixer in the world? All can decide for themselves
Lifetime Hoan owns the license to import and market all the KitchenAid-branded trash that fills the pegs at Walmart. Completely different company. To my knowledge, none of the Lifetime Hoan products are made in the US.
