All the people saying this and yet all I see are hundreds of millions of Toyotas and Hondas running on 0W-20 for hundreds of thousands of miles with no problem, and in fact changing to 0W-16. You do you but I'm going to keep pouring in that SuperTech/Costco 0W-20 because my Tacoma is still going to outlive me regardless.

Mobil 1 Truck and SUV 0W 20 is a full synthetic oil aimed at long drain intervals and modern engines, with the bottle claiming protection up to 20,000 miles. The deal stands out because rebate math can make similar purchases cheaper elsewhere, and the oil may arrive with the newer GF 7 spec even when the listing image shows GF 6A. The main cautions are fitment and rebate friction, since this formula does not meet some VW standards and Amazon purchases have been rejected for the rebate. A solid option if the spec matches your vehicle and you are not relying on the rebate.

  • The Mobil 1 rebate can reduce the effective cost when the rebate terms apply to the purchase method.

    -MoistTowelette-

  • The received oil reportedly matched a newer GF-7 spec instead of the GF-6A label shown in the listing image.

    SevenT6Vet

  • The deal can qualify for a $10 rebate plus $4 Walmart cash when buying the specified Advance Clean 0W-20 for 20,000 miles.

    AquaIdea9357

  • Walmart cash and rebate timing reportedly can be problematic, including a case where the $4 Walmart cash never arrived and another where the $10 rebate had not posted after six weeks.

    -MoistTowelette-warezdog

  • The Mobil 1 0W-20 formula reportedly does not meet any VW standards, which may limit vehicle compatibility.

    rjsmith2007

  • The Mobil 1 0W-20 is reportedly at API SP rather than API SQ, and API SQ is argued to offer better protection for timing chains and turbochargers.

    asuka

  • Rebate fulfillment reportedly can fail for Amazon purchases, including a case where the rebate was rejected and could not be resolved.

this is everyday price, all synthetic oils are made by Warren Oil that private labels this and 5 other brands including walmarts $17 high mileage synthetic oil.
This seems hard to believe, can anyone corroborate the statement above? Asking for a friend! Wink

Personally, I would never use 0W-20. Use 0W-30 or 5W-30 even if the "recommended" oil is 0W-20. 0W-20 ONLY exists because of the EPA. Check your manual and see what the "severe use" recommendation is. Manf. protect themselves (legally) by now including "driving in traffic" as severe duty. 0W-20 is a sham. Oil passages, bearing clearance being "tighter" is 100% bullshit. Your "0W-20" engine uses 5W-30 in countries that aren't subject to EPA regs,

What's interesting is that Walmart has Mobil 1 0w-20 Truck & SUV, says it protects up to 20,000 miles and costs $25. The Mobil 1 rebate gives you a $10 gift card making it $15 which is cheaper than this deal and... you get a fast & furious cup. Mobil 1 doesn't allow Amazon purchases for the rebate unfortunately.
Did the Walmart and rebate 6 weeks ago and nothing on the rebate yet, beginning to think that rebate are now YMMV. Anyone get a cup and their $10 yet?

I did the rebate from Mobil 1 last year and got the rebate 2-3 months later. For the Walmart deal, I returned it since I never got the $4 Walmart cash. I worked with their online and in store support and they said they could do anything to help me with the Walmart cash. Walmart cash is garbage.

And you should also stick to doing the factory recommend 10K+ mile OCI's too because millions of Toyotas and Hondas follow that too...and never change your transmission and diff fluids since they're "lifetime"...lol.

I received this oil, and it's actually the newer GF-7 spec, not the older label GF-6A spec that is shown in the picture above (brown background) and was (is) part of the Autozone clearance posted in a similar SD thread. Either is fine, but was pleasantly surprised.
