My father has a apec brand and his has been great after 1 yr....I just for ispring brand and so far so good. Both are tank, they do take a good chunk of your under sink cabinet space. My cabinet is 30 inches.

I live in a city with excellent water quality, but also live in an older part of town where a lot of the water lines between the meter and house are lead or galvanized. So I installed one of these and have been 100% pleased with it. It has its own tap, so I can use the tap water for everything else. And use the filtered water for cooking and drinking.
I absolutely cannot stand the taste of chlorine in tap water, and this gets rid of it.

I think you just have to look at the efficiency. Like the unit cited has a 2:1 ratio

If you get a system with a permeate pump (which often is passive and requires no power) you can get much more efficient ratios

I have a home master system with a 1:1 ratio, the best I could find at the time for a reasonable price (200-300 dollars)

The listing says it's 2:1 pure to drain. So if you feed the system 3 gallons, 2 are purified and 1 is sent down the drain.

Any feedback on this particular brand or filters?
I have had an RO system for nearly 20 years but I bought mine from a liquidation sale for next to nothing, it was from an actual pharmacy. Thats right the filtered water used to make some prescriptions. Unfortunately the restricted flow is severely limited to something like 9 galloms a day with a similar RO membrane that came with it.
I have it underneath the wet bar with water going to both the wetbar and the fridge.
Very tired of waiting a long time to get water.
The rope filters are always disgusting since we have galvanized pipes from the 1970s. I did change out the hot water pipes to cpvc about 15 years ago due to many pin hole leaks.
Anyway ready to move on, the cost of this is nearly as much as the RO membrane on my current unit.
If this brand is crap, any other budget suggestions?

My plumber recommended Waterdrop over brands like APEC because of filtration quality and consumer ease of use. I got the G3P600 with a remineralization filter as add-on to the chain. Been on the system for over a year and water tastes amazing.

An aside for anyone looking into better quality and subjectively better tasting water: I highly recommend a separate water treatment system (softener/hardener) from your filtration system.

I would look for NSF 58 (RO system) and 372 (lead free)certification at least. T series is only 372 .
