This Nongshim tonkotsu ramen is a convenient instant bowl that works best when doctored up, especially for people who want a nonspicy soup-style ramen. The broth gets praise for being tasty enough, and the sodium is in the flavor packets rather than the noodles. The bowl is also described as oversized for the amount inside, with very little topping and no dried pork or egg in the package. The main knocks are that it tastes only average on its own, feels overpriced, and the product photos can be misleading.

  • Shoppers who like a plain noodle bowl, because it comes with noodles and seasoning packets rather than meat or egg toppings.

  • People wanting mild instant ramen, because it is not spicy and can taste good once doctored with extra ingredients.

  • Buyers who want a filling pantry ramen, because the bowl cooks safely in its oversized container and the noodle amount matches generic ramen portions.

  • Ramen purists chasing authentic tonkotsu flavor, because this tastes nothing like restaurant tonkotsu and reads as average or bad.

  • Shoppers expecting a fully loaded premium bowl, because it has very little dried topping and no dried chashu or similar extras.

  • People who want a ready-to-eat bowl with rich flavor straight from the package, because it can taste flat until extra ingredients are added.

Yeah I now. Stupid question - though I still think the pictures are deceiving, no?
yup it is deceiving. they get around it by adding the "suggested photo" caption on the bag

Sodium is very good for you. At least high quality sodium. Don't let them lie to you

I think it actually is a little more deceiving than normal somehow, because they picture it still in the original container. Usually 'serving suggestions' have the curteousy to put it out in a fancy bowl or something.
Does the BMW 2 comes with Gigi Hadid? https://youtu.be/1nC1aHk_W9s?si=R92fyxdURMsYEgvH

I think it actually is a little more deceiving than normal somehow, because they picture her getting in the original vehicle. Usually 'pessenger suggestions' have the curteousy to put an overweight wifey in a lawn chair or something.

This is one of the worst ramen to buy. It's nothing like Tonkotsu, and it's just bad. Skip it.

This is especially good if you want high quality instant ramen that isn't spicy.

FYI, the content of this is very small. It just comes in an oversized container. It doesn't even come with dried toppings that most higher-end instant noodles come with. It's an over-priced gimmick. Taste is just OK. It was good enough to try, but I never bought it again.

FYI: It's 1510mg sodium otherwise it's yummy.
The sodium is in the flavor packets, not in the noodles

Go for the Nongshim Ramyun Black Ramen Noodles (with Beef Bone Broth) or the Hot and Spicy Noodle Bowl. Both taste better than this.

The Black is always expensive, but he's right, its better (and possibly the best instant soupy-ramen).
This Tonkotsu Ramen is good. Not great, nothing amazing. Just good. This is a frequent seller at Costco, and is also constantly on sale there if you have a membership. The 10 people here who say its disgusting are delusional.

dehydrated green onions is enough for me. Have you ever been to an actual Ramen restaurant? The base tonkotsu or shoyu ramen actually comes plain. Not that this is authentic, but its not trying to be something it isn't.

and serving size wise? This is the same amount of noodles as almost every other generic ramen in grams. The bowl size is to be able to cook everything in it, so they increased volume for safety.

Dehydrated green onions inside is very little. They don't even bother packaging it and just sprinkle little stuff. Contrary to what you are trying to insinuate here, the issue is the other way around. I know ramen far more than you do. I lived in Japan for over a decade and ate the best ramen there is. A good instant ramen contains better dried toppings. Some even contain dried chaashu, which is the signature item for tonkotsu ramen. This ramen is laughable considering that it's marketing itself to be a high-end ramen, which it isn't. Ingredients are also not right. It even contains corn syrup and gum. The added sauce packet is also disgusting. The reason you think this is good is because you don't know enough about ramen. I wish I knew less so I could enjoy low quality overpriced ramen like this.
