Community Reviews

This Nongshim tonkotsu ramen is a convenient instant bowl that works best when doctored up, especially for people who want a nonspicy soup-style ramen. The broth gets praise for being tasty enough, and the sodium is in the flavor packets rather than the noodles. The bowl is also described as oversized for the amount inside, with very little topping and no dried pork or egg in the package. The main knocks are that it tastes only average on its own, feels overpriced, and the product photos can be misleading.

  • The ramen can work well for people who want high-quality instant ramen that is not spicy.

    CaptainPotassium

  • The flavor packets can carry most of the sodium while the noodles themselves may be lower in sodium.

    bettyblue

  • The ramen may taste better after adding extra ingredients or doctoring it at home.

    DAC21

  • The ramen can be described as yummy despite its high sodium content.

    cruzingmax

  • The product can be misleading because the photos show it in the original container rather than a typical serving presentation.

    ElatedGiraffe182sleekdills

  • The package contents can be limited, with no dried toppings included beyond noodles and seasoning or sauce packets.

    imsuuuuureRefundroid

  • The ramen can disappoint as a tonkotsu option because it is described as not like real tonkotsu and as just bad.

    PurpleMaple

  • The ramen can be criticized for low-quality ingredients, including corn syrup and gum, along with a low-quality sauce packet.

Go for the Nongshim Ramyun Black Ramen Noodles (with Beef Bone Broth) or the Hot and Spicy Noodle Bowl. Both taste better than this.

Does the egg and pork come with this? Or is this just noodles and flavor and the picture on the product is not representative of the final product. So you need to add stuff to make this better?

New to instant ramen I see. It's just noodles and seasoning / sauce packets.

Yeah I now. Stupid question - though I still think the pictures are deceiving, no?

I think it actually is a little more deceiving than normal somehow, because they picture it still in the original container. Usually 'serving suggestions' have the curteousy to put it out in a fancy bowl or something.

Sodium is very good for you. At least high quality sodium. Don't let them lie to you
